Our name – New Life - explains our personal experiences in Unity. Many of us have had our lives transformed by living the Unity teachings. Many of us have found the acceptance, the inspiration and support in our Unity spiritual family, to become victorious in the circumstances of our lives. We no longer see ourselves as helpless victims, tossed about in the sea of life’s events. We are awakening to the truth of ourselves as powerful spiritual beings. It is our intention to fully realize that we are, as Dr. Wayne Dyer says “spiritual beings having a human experience” – not the other way around!

If you like the books and presentations by Dr. Dyer, Deepak Chopra, and Esther and Gerry Hicks, you’ll feel right at home in Unity. Their ideas are very similar to our teaching, which is based on our understanding of the message of Jesus Christ, metaphysical interpretation of the Bible, and the continuing revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Since our founding in 1889, Unity has always said that we do not teach anything new; rather we have found truth in many sources and combined what we understand to be the best of the best of wisdom and knowledge. That tradition continues today.
